
The governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, held a series of strategic meetings in Mexico City aimed at securing investments and support for the economic, energy, and social development of the region. Notable meetings included discussions with the Ministry of Energy (Sener) and executives from BlackRock.
In the meeting with the head of Sener, Luz Elena González Escobar, and the Undersecretary of Electricity, José Antonio Rojas Nieto, strategies were discussed to ensure an efficient and sustainable energy supply. The consolidation of investments in renewable energies, strengthening the electrical grid, and optimizing the supply of natural gas to boost sustainable growth in Yucatán were addressed.
The governor emphasized the importance of having a robust energy system to support economic growth, strengthen the industrial sector, and ensure energy availability for the population. Additionally, he highlighted the collaboration with Sener to realize clean energy projects and improve generation and distribution capacity in the region.
In his meeting with executives from BlackRock, initiatives to strengthen connectivity, logistics, and the modernization of key sectors in the state economy were presented. The goal is to position Yucatán as a capital attraction hub and develop high-impact infrastructure.
Díaz Mena stressed the importance of building synergies with international financial actors to consolidate Yucatán's development on a global scale. In this regard, BlackRock, as one of the largest investment fund managers in the world, represents a key player in identifying financing opportunities and participation in strategic projects.
